ING Employee Benefits offers Critical Illness Insurance, which provides an immediate, one-time, lump-sum benefit following the diagnosis of one of several covered diseases/conditions or procedures: heart attack, stroke, major organ transplant, renal (kidney) failure, paralysis, or coma. A partial, potentially multiple benefit is available following coronary artery bypass surgery. Certain additional coverages may be available, including Optional Cancer Coverage, for which a one-time benefit will be paid if cancer (as defined in the certificate) is diagnosed in a covered person. The Optional Cancer Coverage also pays a partial, potentially multiple benefit following the diagnosis of carcinoma in situ. Another option is a Children's Critical Illness Rider, which offers a benefit for dependent children*. The optional Wellness Benefit pays $50 per calendar year if the insured has a health screen test**.
